Performed by BA2 Musical Theatre students, brought up-to-date with new choreography and comedy, this is set to be a fun show with some beautiful music. A comic opera, this was the fifth Gilbert and Sullivan collaboration and introduced the much-parodied 'Major-General's Song'. Premiered in New York in 1879 and making its London debut in 1880, the story concerns Frederic, who is released from his apprenticeship to a band of tender-hearted pirates. He meets Mabel, the daughter of Major-General Stanley, and the two young people fall instantly in love.
