CADS present "Abigail's Party" as part of 2016's Royston Arts Festival.
This classic comedy by acclaimed writer Mike Leigh explores class and manners in 1970s suburban Britain.
Set in the suburban south east, Beverley Moss invites her new neighbours over for drinks. As the alcohol flows and the virtual strangers get to know each other, the prejudices, obsessions, fears and petty competitiveness of the middle class and aspirational lower middle classes are laid bare and ruthlessly exposed.
The television adaption of Abigail's Party is frequently voted as one of the all-time top British TV programmes of the last century, and this production, ably directed by Louise and David Atkins, promises to be as classic and daring as ever.
Shows start at 7.30 pm and are approximately 2 hours, plus a 15-minute interval between acts.
Plenty of free parking is available at the venue. Doors open approximately 7.00 pm
